We are looking for Junior Back-end Software Engineer (Java)
As a Junior Software Engineer at WirelessCar, you will be a proactive member of a collaborative engineering team where ownership, quality, and continuous improvement are key. You will work independently on well-defined back-end solutions, taking responsibility for your tasks from start to finish while knowing when to ask for input or feedback.
Here’s what you’ll focus on:
Develop, test, and maintain back-end software components in accordance with requirements and engineering standards.
Implement well-defined features and bug fixes.
Write unit tests and follow established quality, security, and coding practices.
Participate actively in code reviews, sprint planning, and team ceremonies.
Communicate progress, risks, and blockers clearly and early.
Take responsibility for assigned tasks from start to completion.
Continuously build your understanding of the system, architecture, and development practices.

You bring a solid foundation in back-end development, a problem-solving mindset, and a strong willingness to learn and grow. You are comfortable working in a team-oriented environment, taking responsibility for your work, and are not afraid to take your own initiatives, ask questions, or try new approaches. You value clean code, quality, and collaboration, and you are motivated by the opportunity to develop your skills while contributing to real-world solutions.
Additionally:
At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of hands-on experience in back-end development using Java 11+.
Practical experience with unit testing using JUnit and basic TDD principles.
Experience using Git in a collaborative, team-based development environment.
Experience working in Agile teams (e.g. Scrum or similar frameworks).
Hands-on experience with a cloud platform (AWS).
English, Fluent – Spoken and written.
Beneficial:
Certifications in back-end frameworks or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Azure).
Experience working in a DevOps environment.
Experience with microservices-based architectures.
Knowledge of any other programming language is considered an advantage.
Experience working in global organizations with diverse teams and cultures.
Experience using CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications.

The work location for this role is in in our office in central Bangalore, India. At WirelessCar we believe in a hybrid work setup, with possibilities to work both form home and from the office.
